In a significant display of inter-state diplomacy, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, recently paid a visit to the Cross River State Government Palace, where he was received by Governor Hon. Peter Od.

Although details of the meeting are scarce, it’s likely that the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including education, economic development, security, and cultural exchange. The visit underscores the importance of building relationships between state governments and traditional institutions in Nigeria.

Interestingly, Emir Bayero’s visit comes at a time when he’s facing calls for his removal by the Kano State Government, which has accused him of being imposed on the state by President Bola Tinubu. Despite these challenges, the Emir remains a respected figure in Nigerian society, and his visit to Cross River State is seen as a positive step in promoting national unity.
