TEA VENDOR KILLS 20-YEAR-OLD OVER ALLEGED THEFT IN JIGAWA


The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old tea vendor, Abdulrashibu Ya’u, for killing a 20-year-old, Hassan Garba, over alleged theft of his goods.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the incident occurred on August 19, 2024, at Sararai village, Jigawar Tsada town, in Dutse Local Government Council.
The suspect admitted to tying the victim with a rope and beating him with a stick, resulting in his death. The case is under investigation, and the suspect will be arraigned in court soon.
In other developments, the police command has also arrested suspects for armed robbery and motorcycle theft in various parts of the state.
The command congratulates the state government and citizens on the 33rd anniversary of Jigawa’s creation and urges continued cooperation with security agencies to maintain peace and order.
