JIGAWA STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVES RELIEF MATERIALS AND INSTITUTIONAL FEEDING PROGRAMME REVIEW
The Jigawa State Executive Council, chaired by His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA, held a meeting on Monday, August 26, 2024, and made significant decisions.
Relief Materials for IDPs
The Council approved the release of N1,062,431,160.00 to SEMA for the procurement of relief materials for 14,148 IDPs in 53 camps across the state. Honorable Commissioners and other political appointees have been assigned to oversee the distribution of relief materials to ensure accountability.
Institutional Feeding Programme Review
The Council approved a 50% increase in the institutional feeding programme at secondary health facilities, from N280 to N420 per meal, effective August-December 2024.
Fact-Finding Committee on Violent Protest
The Council formed a Fact-Finding Committee to investigate the recent violent protest in Jigawa State. The committee’s Terms of Reference include ascertaining the root causes of the protest, the role of individuals involved, and the extent of damage.
