Kano, Nigeria – The Kano State Police Command has announced significant progress in its ongoing battle against crime, with over 90 suspects arrested in various operations over the past three weeks.

In a press conference on September 2, 2024, the state’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, highlighted the command’s successes under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba.

Notable achievements include the arrest of notorious kidnappers, armed robbers, drug dealers, and the death of wanted armed robbery thug Abba Burakita. The police also recovered dangerous weapons, intoxicating substances, and stolen items.

The command’s efforts have resulted in a decline in crime rates across the state, thanks to a multi-faceted approach that includes intelligence gathering, community engagement, targeted operations, and public sensitization.

The Kano State Police Command continues to urge the public to cooperate by providing timely information on suspicious activities.
