Kano, Nigeria – A tragic incident occurred in Kano State on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, when a two-story building collapsed, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others. The collapse was attributed to heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in the Nomansland area of Fagge Local Government Area.

The Kano State Fire Service swiftly responded to the emergency, arriving at the scene around 2 am. Rescue teams worked tirelessly to extricate the victims from the rubble, successfully rescuing two individuals who were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, two people were found deceased within the collapsed building. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by heavy rainfall and the importance of ensuring structural integrity in buildings, particularly in areas prone to flooding. As the rainy season continues, authorities and residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent such tragedies.
