Kano State Governor Signs N99.22 Billion Supplementary Budget into Law

Kano, Nigeria – On September 6, 2024, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf signed a supplementary budget of N99,221,503,569.93 into law, marking a significant development for the state’s financial planning and public services.

The newly signed supplementary budget addresses several critical areas, including the implementation of the national minimum wage for civil servants, the upcoming local government elections, and the provision of school uniforms for primary school pupils. It also includes adjustments to project costs due to the recent surge in prices of goods and services.
The supplementary budget comprises N68.2 billion allocated for personnel and overhead costs, with an additional N30.9 billion earmarked for capital expenditure. This addition brings Kano State’s total budget for 2024 to N536,559,816,357.84.
Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to the Kano State Assembly, led by Rt. Hon.
