House of Reps Donates N100m to Borno Flood Victims

In a show of solidarity and support, a special delegation from the House of Representatives, led by Alhassan Ado Doguwa, visited Maiduguri on Tuesday to commiserate with the government and people of Borno State over the recent devastating floods ¹. The delegation, representing Speaker Tajuddeen Abbas and the entire House, donated N100 million to aid victims affected by the disaster.

Doguwa, Chairman of the Northern Regional Caucus, praised President Bola Tinubu’s swift response to the crisis, ensuring federal government support to the state government and affected victims. He also pledged the National Assembly’s cooperation with the federal government to establish a legislative framework or budgetary intervention to address flood disaster impacts nationwide.

During their visit, the delegation paid their respects to the Shehu of Borno, condoling with him over lives lost due to the disaster.
