Abuja, Nigeria – September 26, 2024 – Nigeria’s Defense Minister, Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, has called for increased international support for victims of terrorism. Speaking at the United Nations, Badaru emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of those affected by terrorist attacks.
“Nigeria is committed to supporting victims of terrorism and promoting social cohesion,” Badaru stated. He highlighted the need for education and economic opportunities to help survivors rebuild their lives.

The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism has been instrumental in raising awareness of the plight of victims and advocating for their rights. Badaru urged the international community to continue its efforts to provide support and assistance to those affected by terrorism.
