Zamfara Police Arrest Civil Defense Officer, Fake Doctor, and Bandits’ Wives in Major Crackdown

Gusau, Nigeria – In a significant stride against the escalating banditry crisis in Zamfara State, the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended several individuals allegedly linked to various criminal activities, including a Civil Defense officer, a quack doctor, and the wives of notorious bandit leaders.
During a press briefing at the state police headquarters in Gusau, the Commissioner of Police, Shehu Muhammad Dalijan, revealed that these arrests were part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability to the troubled region.
Among those apprehended is ASC II Maikano S/Tasha, a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who was found in possession of a large cache of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, anti-aircraft rounds, and illicit drugs. Maikano confessed to supplying bandits with these lethal weapons but claimed it was his first offense.
In a separate operation, police arrested a fake doctor, Mamuda Sani Makakari, who was caught with 441 rounds of ammunition in Anka. Makakari, a repeat offender, admitted to providing medical services to bandits and their families.
Furthermore, the police paraded the wives and children of notorious bandit leaders, including Kachalla Jijji and Bello Kaura. These women are accused of actively supporting their husbands’ criminal activities.
A young man named Ashiru Hadi from Kurar Mota was also paraded for allegedly murdering his grandmother.
Commissioner Dalijan emphasized the government’s commitment to combating banditry and urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies.
