Abuja Police Deploy Personnel, Restrict Traffic Ahead of Independence Day Celebrations

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced heightened security measures ahead of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebrations. In a statement released on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the police said that officers and specialized units have been strategically deployed across the city to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration.

To maintain law and order, the police will be implementing traffic restrictions in strategic areas, including the city center and Eagle Square. These measures are aimed at preventing any disruptions and facilitating the smooth flow of events.

“We have put in place robust security measures to guarantee the safety of all residents and visitors during the Independence Day celebrations,” said SP Adeh. “Our officers will be highly visible, and specialized units, including bomb disposal squads and riot control teams, will be on standby.”
