The Jigawa State Executive Council, led by His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA, has made a significant move towards enhancing educational development in the state. In a meeting held on Monday, 30th September 2024, the Council approved the purchase of Khadija University, Maji’a, at a total cost of N11 billion.

This decision aligns with Governor Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda aimed at expanding educational access and improving outcomes in Jigawa State. To facilitate the purchase, an advance payment of 40%—amounting to N4.07 billion—will be made to the current owner of the university. The remaining 60% will be paid in two installments as per the agreement between both parties.

This investment is expected to bolster the state’s higher education infrastructure, providing more opportunities for students across Jigawa.
