The Executive Chairman of Gwaram Local Government and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Jigawa State, Hon. Salim Abdulrahman Lawan, today participated in the opening session of a two-day seminar on leadership and governance. The event was organized by the Jigawa Local Government Service Commission in partnership with the Manpower Development Institute.

The seminar, which brings together chairmen from all 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Jigawa, aims to enhance leadership capabilities and governance efficiency. Governor Umar Namadi, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel, stressed the importance of trust-building and diligent attention to daily tasks. He encouraged the newly elected chairmen to prioritize the welfare of their communities, aligning their efforts with the state’s development agenda.

Hon. Lawan, alongside his counterparts, will engage in workshops designed to foster accountability, transparency, and improved governance. In his remarks, Hon. Lawan expressed gratitude to the organizers and pledged to work in harmony with the state government to deliver impactful projects for Gwaram LGA, in line with the governor’s vision for sustainable development in Jigawa.

This seminar represents a key investment in local leadership, with the potential to drive substantial progress in Jigawa’s LGAs through effective governance and leadership skills.
