Dutse Emirate Progressive Forum Express Solidarity, Donate to Tanker Explosion Victims

Dutse, Jigawa State: The Dutse Emirate Progressive Forum (DEPF) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent tragic tanker explosion in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area. The organization also offered support to the injured victims.

During a condolence visit to Governor Malam Umar A Namadi FCA, DEPF President Justice Kadi Isa Jibrin Gantsa commended the governor’s swift response to the disaster. Gantsa praised Namadi’s leadership, highlighting his efforts in attending the mass burial of over 150 victims and visiting injured individuals in hospitals both within and outside the state.

DEPF Applauds Greater Dutse Water Project Approval

DEPF also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the recent approval of the long-awaited Greater Dutse Water Project. This significant infrastructure project, initiated over 17 years ago, is set to address the region’s water needs. The organization acknowledged Governor Namadi’s instrumental role in securing this vital investment for the people of Dutse Emirate.

Financial Support for Victims

To demonstrate their solidarity with the affected communities, DEPF donated two million Naira to the Jigawa State Government. The funds are intended to support the families of the deceased and provide necessary care for the injured.

Governor Namadi Thanks DEPF for Support

Governor Namadi thanked DEPF for their condolences and generous donation. He assured the organization that the funds would be utilized effectively to assist the victims and their families.

The governor also expressed his appreciation to President Tinubu for approving the Greater Dutse Water Project, a substantial investment of over 50 billion Naira. He emphasized the project’s importance in addressing water scarcity in the region and reiterated his administration’s commitment to its timely implementation.

The condolence visit was attended by several prominent figures from the Dutse Emirate, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, state commissioners, and members of the state assembly.

Governor Namadi reaffirmed his dedication to working closely with DEPF and other stakeholders to ensure the continued development and prosperity of Jigawa State.
