Governor Namadi Entrusts Civil Engineering Expert to Lead Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiatives.

In a strategic move to strengthen Jigawa State’s water supply and sanitation infrastructure, His Excellency Governor M. Umar A. Namadi, FCA, has officially appointed Engr. Abubakar Sidi as the Managing Director of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA). The appointment, effective from September 23, 2024, underscores the government’s confidence in Engr. Sidi’s expertise and dedication to advancing essential services in rural areas.

Muhammad K. Dagaceri, Head of the Civil Service, commended Sidi on this “well-deserved appointment,” emphasizing the significant responsibilities that come with the role. “This appointment reflects the government’s trust in your abilities,” Dagaceri noted. “We are hopeful you will lead RUWASA toward achieving its objectives in ensuring clean and accessible water for all.

Engr. Abubakar Sidi hails from Hadejia Local Government Area, Jigawa State. Born on December 21, 1988, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

Sidi’s credentials highlight his strong professional background, including his active membership in the Nigeria Society of Engineers (MNSE) and his registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), with Registration No. 44,689
