Former President Buhari Visits Jigawa, Donates N10 Million in Support of Fire Victims

Jigawa State, Nigeria. In a heartfelt show of solidarity, former President Muhammadu Buhari visited Jigawa State on Tuesday to express his condolences to the people and government over the devastating fire that recently swept through Majia town in Taura local government area. The tragic incident claimed over 170 lives and left more than 70 individuals injured, many of whom are currently receiving treatment in health facilities within and beyond the state.
Upon his arrival, Buhari was welcomed by Jigawa State’s Deputy and Acting Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel. During his address, Buhari conveyed his shock and sorrow over the incident, offering prayers for the souls of those lost and for the swift recovery of the injured. To support the relief efforts, he presented a donation of N10 million.
Expressing gratitude for the former President’s visit, Acting Governor Gumel acknowledged the financial support and the gesture of solidarity shown by Buhari, stating that it exemplifies compassion and unity in times of crisis.
Accompanying Buhari were prominent figures, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, former Ministers Engr. Sulaiman Adamu and Sen. Hadi Sirika, Prof. Isa Pantami, Engr. Aliyu Mamman, Garba Shehu, Emeka Nwajiuba, and Musa Haro Danmadami, along with other associates.
