Retired Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ahmed Wakili, distinguished for his service in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has tragically passed away following a road traffic accident on November 9, 2024, in Narayi, Kaduna. The former fighter pilot was reportedly involved in a severe accident and was promptly transported by the NAF Base Support Group (BSG) Kaduna to the NAF Hospital. Despite swift efforts, the AVM’s life could not be saved.

✓Final Farewell for AVM Ahmed Wakili

AVM Wakili, who served the Nigerian Air Force with distinction, will be laid to rest in Kano on Sunday, November 10, 2024. A respected leader and a decorated veteran, he is remembered for his combat experience in Liberia and Sierra Leone, his tenure as Air Officer Commanding (AOC) of NAF Training Command, and his role as Director of Operations at the Defence Headquarters. AVM Wakili was a native of Jigawa State and an esteemed alumnus of NAF’s Cadet Military Course 6.

The late AVM Wakili is survived by his family, including two wives, six children, and three grandchildren, who mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Funeral Details:

Prayer Service: Funeral prayers will be held on Sunday, November 10, at Masallacin Dr. Ahmed Rijiyar Zaki, Kano, at 4:00 p.m., following the Asr prayer.

Burial: The burial will take place immediately afterward at the Dandolo Muslim Cemetery.

Condolences: Condolences are welcomed at the deceased’s residence in Rijiyar Zaki, Kano.
