Katsina, Nigeria:

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s pivotal role in the ongoing fight against banditry and terrorism. During an operational visit to the Air Component Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Katsina State, Minister Badaru emphasized the need for intensified aerial operations to decisively end the menace.

“You are key to this fight, and we must collectively utilize our active component to bring this war to an end,” the Minister asserted. He commended the Air Force personnel for their unwavering courage and resilience, which has inspired the nation.

The Minister highlighted the positive impact of the Air Force’s operations, stating, “Farmers are returning to their fields, schools are reopening, businesses are thriving, and Nigerians can now sleep peacefully.” He expressed confidence in the Air Force’s ability to leverage state-of-the-art aircraft, including the newly inducted T129 Attack Helicopter, to further enhance their operational capabilities.

“With the induction of these new platforms, I am confident we will make Mr. President and Nigerians proud,” Minister Badaru declared. He urged the Air Force to synergize with ground forces and other stakeholders to maximize the impact of these combat enablers.

Following his visit to Katsina, the Minister proceeded to Sokoto to inspect the combat readiness of Air Force platforms and the proposed site for a permanent Air Force base to support ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the region.

Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s leadership and guidance. He emphasized that the T129 Attack Helicopters would significantly bolster the Air Force’s ability to neutralize threats to national security.
