JIGAWA STATE ORGANIZED LABOUR SUSPENDS PLANNED STRIKE ACTION

The organized labour in Jigawa State has suspended the planned statewide industrial action scheduled to start on December 1, 2024. This decision follows an emergency state executive council meeting held in Dutse, where the executive governor approved the payment of the newly approved salary from December 2024.
Although the labour union expressed displeasure over the governor’s delay in approving the salary scale submitted two weeks ago, they demanded three months’ arrears. The union appreciated the Head of the Civil Service for their support during the struggle and promised to reciprocate with better output.

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives has assured its members that the salary scale is convincing and appreciable, and one of the best in any state in the federation. They urged their members to continue providing excellent professionalism and expertise in patient care and safety.
