In a bid to boost sports development and youth empowerment, Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making the state a sports hub. This announcement was made during a meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian National League (NNL), led by Mr. Yakubu Sama, at the Government House in Dutse.

Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of sports in youth development, stating that “the youths are the future; whatever we can do to motivate them, we will do.” He highlighted his administration’s efforts in scouting and nurturing grassroots talents, which led to the establishment of the Junior Golden Stars as a feeder team for the senior team.

He also lauded the establishment of the feeder team and advocated for using sports as a tool for social reintegration, particularly for out-of-school children.
