Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to attend the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024. This flagship international conference, scheduled from November 27 to December 2, focuses on “Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries”

.At the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, VP Shettima will highlight Nigeria’s strides in hydrocarbon exploration and production, emphasizing the nation’s role in driving sustainable energy solutions. The Vice President is expected to return to Abuja later today.

SIREXE 2024 aims to bring together global leaders to chart the future of sustainable energy. The event is hosted by Côte d’Ivoire’s government, and VP Shettima’s attendance underscores Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable energy development.

The conference will be held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss policies and strategies for sustainable development in the extractive and energy industries.
