In a grand ceremony held at the 3-star Hotel Dutse in Jigawa State, Engr. Datti Ahmad FNSE (Dallatun Dutse) was sworn in as the 8th Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Dutse Branch. The event was attended by a multitude of dignitaries from across the state, including H.E. the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel.

During the ceremony, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, delivered a presentation on “Stress in Engineering.” He emphasized the importance of engineers maintaining a healthy lifestyle, taking regular breaks, and exercising their brains to prevent eye damage and vision loss.

Dr. Ibrahim also stressed the need for engineers to take annual leaves, recommending at least 30 days off per year to boost their immune system and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Other notable attendees included the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, RT Hon Haruna Kabiru Dangyatin; Hon. Commissioner of Works and Transport, Engr. Gambo S Mallam FNSE; and Hon. Commissioner of Power, Engr. Suraj.

The Deputy President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. A A Rabiu (Cigarin Lafia), represented the National President, Engr. Mrs. Magret Aina Oguntala FNSE. The Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Saad Tasiu Gidari Wudil FNSE, was also in attendance.

The ceremony included an awards presentation to recognize the contributions of various companies, philanthropists, and Exco members to the society. As Engr. Datti Ahmad FNSE assumes his new role, the society looks forward to the successful implementation of robust standard ideas that will boost the state’s infrastructure development.
