Senator Yari Donates New Bus to NUJ After Accident, Addresses State Security

Gusau, Zamfara State – Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has demonstrated his support for journalists in the state by donating a brand-new bus to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council. The gesture follows a recent auto accident involving the NUJ’s 18-seater bus, which transported 15 journalists returning from the National Delegates Conference in Owerri, Imo State.
During a press conference where he also addressed the ongoing security challenges and political climate in Zamfara, Senator Yari expressed his concern for the journalists’ safety. He commended their resilience despite the unfortunate incident, which occurred on November 29, 2024.
Recognizing the crucial role of journalists in disseminating information and holding authorities accountable, Senator Yari emphasized the importance of their safety and mobility. He stated that the new bus would enable journalists to continue their vital work without hindrance.
Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, a former NUJ chairman and current chairman of the publicity committee for the A.A. political organization, briefed Senator Yari on the details of the accident.
The senator’s generous donation has been met with immense gratitude from the NUJ Zamfara State Council and the entire media community in the state. It is seen as a significant gesture of support for the journalists who play a vital role in informing the public.
