Lamido Leads PDP Delegation to Condole with Jigawa Governor Over Double Tragedy

Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, Dr. Babandi Ibrahim, and other top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State paid a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi at his residence in Kafin Hausa town. The visit was to commiserate with the governor over the recent loss of his mother and son.
During the visit, Alhaji Lamido announced the death of the governor’s mother and son, describing it as a great loss to the Muslim community. He expressed his condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the governor, saying that the news of the death was received with sadness and resignation to the will of Allah.
Governor Namadi’s mother, Hajiya Mariam, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, while his son, Abdulwahab, died in a car accident on Boxing Day, December 26. The double tragedy has sent shockwaves across the state, with many top government officials and politicians visiting the governor to offer their condolences.
Tributes Pour In
Former President Muhammadu Buhari also condoled with Governor Namadi over the loss of his mother and son. In a telephone call, Buhari urged the governor to accept the tragedy as the will of Allah and to turn it into an opportunity to strengthen his faith.
Vice President Kashim Shettima also led a delegation to Jigawa State to condole with the governor and his family. Shettima described the death of the governor’s mother and son as a “double tragedy” and prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.
