In a significant move, Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has signed the 2025 appropriation bill of N615.8 billion into law. The budget, tagged “Budget of Recovery and Continuity,” aims to complete outstanding projects initiated during Zulum’s 2023 campaign promise.

Governor Zulum presented the initial budget estimate of N584.76 billion on December 9, 2024, which was later increased by N31 billion after deliberations by the State Assembly. The governor commended the leadership and members of the Borno State House of Assembly for approving the budget on time.

In addition to signing the appropriation bill, Governor Zulum announced the appointment of Dr. Mustapha Mallumbe, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, as his new Deputy Chief of Staff. This appointment follows the absence of the current Chief of Staff, Professor Hussaini Marte, who has been indisposed for a while.

With the signing of the 2025 appropriation bill, Governor Zulum has reaffirmed his commitment to completing ongoing projects and driving development in Borno State.
