Tinubu Approves Inland Dry Port for Ijebu-Ode, After backing Ijebu state

In a move aimed at stimulating economic growth, creating jobs, and enhancing logistics networks, President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of inland dry ports for Ogun and Oyo states. The Gateway Inland Dry Port in Ogun State, unveiled by Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, is a key component of this initiative.

Key Benefits of the Inland Dry Port

  • Job Creation: Expected to generate over 5,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs
  • Economic Growth: Will stimulate local businesses, attract investments, and spur regional development
  • Improved Logistics: Will enhance the efficiency of logistics networks, reducing transport times and costs
  • Reduced Congestion: Will help de-congest the Premier Lagos seaport, Apapa, and reduce vehicular trailer traffic on roads

The inland dry port is expected to solidify Ogun State’s position as the foremost logistics and industrial hub in the country, bringing unparalleled advantages to businesses operating in the region. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State noted that the inland dry port will help open up and spur development in the state, transforming it into a leading logistics and commercial center in Nigeria and West Africa.
