ECOWAS Affairs Officer Meets with Livestock Associations in Jigawa State

In a bid to promote orderly conduct and safety in livestock rearing and trading, ACI A Abdullahi, the Officer-in-Charge of ECOWAS affairs in Jigawa State Command, met with leaders of two prominent livestock associations in Shuwari Market on January 20, 2025.

The associations, namely the West Africa Rearers Association “Tinitare Fulbe” and the National Union of Camel Rearing/Selling Association of Nigeria, discussed the importance of adhering to rules and regulations governing livestock rearing and trading. ACI Abdullahi urged the associations to desist from activities that could lead to accidents and encouraged them to report any individuals attempting to cause violence.

Sheikh Jibril Abdukrahman Hassan, representing the associations, thanked ACI Abdullahi for the meeting and assured him of their commitment to orderly conduct.

In a related development, ACI Abdullahi paid an official visit to the Chairman of Gwaram Local Government Council, presenting an appreciation letter for the council’s support in refurbishing a patrol vehicle stationed at the Babaldu checkpoint. The chairman pledged to collaborate with all security agencies in recognizing their efforts to secure and protect the public.
