A devastating fire outbreak occurred at the Shakkato Filling Station along Kiyawa road, beside MBU motors in Dutse, Jigawa state, at approximately 19:32 hours. Eyewitnesses Comrade Musbahu Basirka recounted the chaotic scene, stating that the fire erupted when a tanker dropped fuel at the reservoir, while someone was making a phone call nearby.

In the midst of the chaos, some youths attempted to scoop fuel, but their efforts were thwarted by the timely arrival of police and security personnel, who regained control of the situation about an hour later. The state and federal fire services in Jigawa state made significant sacrifices to contain the blaze.

Fortunately, the situation is now under control, and an investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak is underway. This incident bears an eerie resemblance to a similar fire outbreak that occurred in Jigawa state in 2022, which resulted in the loss of seven lives.
