Nigeria’s Defence Minister Badaru Joins President Tinubu at AU Summit in Ethiopia

The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, is set to join His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This high-level summit, a pivotal gathering of African leaders, focuses on the theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.” It highlights the urgent call for historical accountability, justice, and equitable redress for past injustices suffered by Africans and their descendants worldwide
As a key delegate, Minister Abubakar will contribute to discussions on regional security, defence cooperation, and Africa’s collective pursuit of justice. His presence underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering unity, stability, and economic growth across the continent.
President Tinubu, attending in his capacity as Chairman of ECOWAS, is expected to engage in critical deliberations on peacebuilding, economic integration, and Africa’s stance on global affairs.
The AU Summit serves as a platform to shape policies that will drive the continent forward, ensuring Africa’s voice is heard on reparations, governance, and sustainable development.
