Defence Minister Bids Farewell to President Tinubu After AU Summit in Ethiopia

The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, paid a farewell visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Monday, just before the President’s departure for Nigeria.

President Tinubu was in Ethiopia for the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, where he engaged in high-level discussions with African leaders on key security, economic, and diplomatic issues shaping the continent.
Minister Badaru Abubakar, a dedicated advocate for regional peace and security, played an active role in Nigeria’s engagements at the AU Summit. His presence underscored Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening continental defense collaboration and tackling security challenges affecting Africa.

During his meeting with President Tinubu, the Defence Minister reaffirmed Nigeria’s strategic role in fostering military cooperation and stability across Africa, aligning with the country’s long-standing leadership in regional security efforts.
The farewell visit highlighted the strong synergy between the Tinubu administration and its top defense officials, ensuring that Nigeria remains at the forefront of Africa’s collective security agenda.
