Governor Zulum Pledges Support for Successful 2025 Hajj Exercise

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in ensuring a successful 2025 Hajj exercise.
This pledge was made during a courtesy visit to the NAHCON management at the Hajj House in Abuja.Governor Zulum assured the Commission that the Borno State government would provide necessary support, political will, and resources to facilitate a smooth Hajj operation. As Chairman of the North East Governors’ Forum, Zulum also promised to relay discussion outcomes to regional governors, ensuring timely payments and completion of requirements within stipulated deadlines.

√Efficient Management: Zulum emphasized the importance of effectively managing the number of intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth Hajj operation
√Federal Government Support: The governor commended the federal government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, for their unwavering support to the Hajj Commission.
√Addressing Challenges: Zulum acknowledged challenges faced during the 2024 Hajj, such as inadequate VIP arrangements and overbooking, and urged the Commission to embark on social reorientation for state governments and intending pilgrims.

NAHCON’s Preparations: The Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Professor Abdullah Saleh Usman, informed Governor Zulum that the Commission had secured space for 52,000 pilgrims at Masha’ir, with allocations for VIPs and tour operators.Governor Zulum’s pledge demonstrates his administration’s dedication to ensuring a successful Hajj exercise, which is a significant event for Nigeria’s Muslim community. With the governor’s support and NAHCON’s preparations, the 2025 Hajj is expected to be a memorable and spiritual experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
