President Tinubu Appoint New Accountant General

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the new Accountant General of the Federation. Ogunjimi’s appointment comes after a rigorous selection process, which involved a written assessment, an ICT proficiency test, and oral interviews.
Ogunjimi, 57, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master’s in Accounting and Finance from the University of Lagos.
The new Accountant General of the Federation will assume office on March 7, 2025, following the retirement of the incumbent, Oluwatoyin Madein. President Tinubu has expressed confidence in Ogunjimi’s ability to ensure the continued effectiveness of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.
