In a stunning political development, a large number of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Jigawa State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection was led by Comrade Usman Ya’u Galamawa, the former Chairman of the Teachers’ Union, Jigawa State chapter.

The defection was endorsed by several high-ranking officials, including the Honorable Member representing Dutse Local Government in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Tasiu Ishaq Soja, and the Honorable Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isah Yusuf Chamo.
The defectors were formally received by the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar A Namadi FCA, at the Government House.
