The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has categorically denied reports that five of its governors are supporting a potential presidential ticket of Nasir El-Rufai and Peter Obi in the 2027 election. The forum dismissed the reports as “unpleasant and provocative publications” and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting any aspirant who wins the party’s ticket.

Led by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, the PDP Governors Forum emphasized its dedication to the party’s principles of equity, social justice, and sincerity of purpose. The forum also vowed not to allow “enemies of progress” to distract them from their goal of supporting the party’s flag-bearer in the 2027 election.

The denial by the PDP Governors Forum puts to rest speculation about a potential alliance between the PDP governors and the El-Rufai-Obi ticket. With the 2027 election approaching, the PDP Governors Forum’s statement reiterates its commitment to the party’s values and principles.
