Ex-Militant Leader Defends NSA Nuhu Ribadu Against “Failed Politicians”

A former Niger Delta militant leader, Osaanya Ossanya, has come out in strong defense of National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, criticizing “failed politicians” for attempting to discredit him. According to Ossanya, these politicians are falsely linking Ribadu to the 2031 presidential election in a bid to distract him from his crucial work in fighting terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria.
Ossanya praised Ribadu’s efforts, which have led to significant improvements in Nigeria’s Global Terror Index score, dropping from 8.065 in 2023 to 7.575. He also highlighted Ribadu’s success in eliminating key terror figures, making it safer for people to travel across the country. Additionally, Ossanya commended Ribadu’s holistic approach to national security, which includes focusing on food security and other essential aspects.
The ex-militant leader warned those behind the “media attacks” to stop, emphasizing that Nigerians, particularly those from the Niger Delta, are satisfied with Ribadu’s performance and will continue to support him. It’s clear that Ossanya believes Ribadu’s work is crucial to Nigeria’s security and stability, and that he should be allowed to focus on his duties without unnecessary distractions.
In related news, Ribadu recently criticized the Canadian embassy for denying visas to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christopher Musa and other senior military officers.
