A group of frustrated youths in Numan, Adamawa State, took to the streets, protesting the prolonged power outage in the area. The demonstration, which started peacefully, eventually turned violent as the youths stormed the office of the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), formerly known as NEPA.

The protesters, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the consistent lack of electricity supply in Numan, blocked the entrance to the YEDC office, causing a stir in the community. The youths claimed that the power outage has persisted for weeks, crippling economic activities and causing hardship for residents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the protesters vandalized some properties at the YEDC office, including windows and doors, before security personnel intervened to restore order.

The YEDC has been facing criticism over its handling of electricity distribution in Adamawa State, with many residents complaining about the frequent power outages and estimated billing system.
