By Hassan Kano
In a bid to promote responsible and respectful dialogue in the media, Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has called on radio presenters to ensure their guests use refined language during political programs.

Waiya made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the Kano State Radio Political Programmes Presenters Forum, emphasizing the crucial role presenters play in maintaining decent language and preventing insults or disrespectful remarks.

Key Takeaways:
- Training and Support: The government will provide training to enhance presenters’ skills and professionalism.
- Commitment to Welfare: The Ministry will support the Forum’s welfare, enabling members to serve the public effectively.
- Curbing Abusive Language: Presenters’ cooperation is vital in reducing abusive language in political discussions.
Waiya clarified that promoting decent language does not imply an end to political opposition. The Chairman of the Kano State Radio Political Programmes Presenters Forum, Abdullahi Muhammad Wali, assured the Commissioner of the Forum’s commitment to supporting efforts to promote refined language in political programs.
This development is part of the Kano State Government’s efforts to promote responsible media practices and maintain a respectful public discourse.
