The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested popular TikTok influencer, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, for allegedly abusing and mutilating the Naira. This arrest comes after Kunya initially failed to appear in court for her arraignment, prompting the EFCC to launch a pursuit.

According to reports, Kunya was arrested for spraying Naira notes for fun during her stay in a hotel room at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano. This act is a clear violation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, which prohibits the abuse and mutilation of the Naira.

The EFCC has reiterated its commitment to enforcing laws that protect the integrity of the Nigerian currency. The commission warned against acts of abuse, including spraying, stamping, or mutilating the currency during social events.

Kunya’s arrest is part of a broader crackdown on individuals who abuse the Naira. The EFCC has also detained other TikTok personalities, including Al’amin G-Fresh and Ashir Idris, for similar offenses.

As the investigation continues, Kunya will be charged in court for prosecution. The EFCC’s efforts to uphold the integrity of the Nigerian currency serve as a reminder of the importance of respecting the nation’s laws and institutions.
