Rivers Govt Fires Back at Misconduct Allegations Against Governor Fubara

The Rivers State Government has responded to accusations of misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, stating that they have not received any official communication from the State House of Assembly regarding the allegations.
According to Joe Johnson, the Commissioner for Information, the executive arm has not been formally informed about any claims of misconduct despite the Assembly’s public statements. Johnson emphasized that Governor Fubara has always shown a commitment to peace and followed court rulings, such as the Supreme Court’s order to transfer power from local government chairmen to appointed administrators.
Allegations of Gross Misconduct
The Rivers State House of Assembly has accused Governor Fubara and his deputy of gross misconduct, with 26 members of the assembly signing a notice sent to the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule. However, the government has criticized the Assembly’s actions, calling them attempts to cause unrest and undermine the governor’s efforts.
