By Hassan Kano
As Ramadan progresses, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf conducted an inspection visit to 10 to 10 Restaurant, one of the vendors responsible for preparing Iftar meals for fasting Muslims. The governor praised the high hygiene standards and efficiency of both 10 to 10 Restaurant and Meena Event, which have been providing meals to thousands of people across the state.

Ramadan Feeding Programme: A New Strategy
The Kano State Ramadan feeding programme has undergone significant improvements, with 10 to 10 Restaurant feeding 30,000 people across 30 centers, and Meena Event serving 31,000 people at 31 centers. Each location provides meals for 1,000 individuals daily, totaling 91,000 people across the state. Governor Yusuf acknowledged the shortcomings of last year’s programme and expressed satisfaction with the new strategy and expanded reach, which have enabled the initiative to cover more needy people.
A Commitment to Accountability and Transparency
The governor’s visit reinforced his administration’s focus on accountability, transparency, and the well-being of Kano’s people. As part of the Ramadan gesture, the state has extended a truck of rice to each of the 44 Local Government areas for distribution to vulnerable groups. Governor Yusuf encouraged wealthy individuals to complement the government’s efforts in feeding the vulnerable beyond the month of Ramadan.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who took office on May 29, 2023, has been working to improve the lives of Kano State residents through various initiatives, including the Ramadan feeding programme.
