In a move to enforce discipline and accountability, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has suspended three of his commissioners for failing to attend a crucial State Executive Council meeting without prior permission.

The suspended officials include Solomon Azi (Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies), Victor Chukwu (Environment Commissioner), and Ikeuwa Omebe (Commissioner for Rural Development). They will be suspended for one month, effective immediately.

Governor Nwifuru emphasized that absenteeism and unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated, urging public servants to maintain commitment to their duties. The suspended commissioners will not receive benefits and privileges associated with their roles during their suspension period.

The Governor also warned contractors working on state projects to meet deadlines and adhere to contract terms, stating that the government will take legal action to ensure compliance.
