A catastrophic explosion rocked the Karu/Nyanya axis in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Wednesday, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in its wake. A gas tanker burst into flames, engulfing several vehicles and causing widespread panic among residents and commuters.

According to emergency responders, at least seven bodies have been recovered so far, with rescue operations still underway. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), firefighters, and other security agencies are working tirelessly to control the situation and provide aid to those affected.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion before seeing massive flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky. Some individuals were seen fleeing from their vehicles as the fire rapidly spread across the area, causing a severe traffic gridlock along the Nyanya-Mararaba axis.

Officials are yet to confirm the cause of the explosion, and the extent of property damage and injuries remains unclear. As the investigation unfolds, the people of Abuja are left to pick up the pieces and mourn the loss of life.
