Jigawa Govt Approves Establishment of Agricultural Transformation Agency

In a bid to boost agricultural development in the state, the Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the establishment of the Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agency (JATA). This decision was made during the council’s meeting held on Monday, March 24, 2025, chaired by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA.
According to the Honorable Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, the proposed agency will drive the state’s agricultural transformation agenda, aiming to improve the livelihoods of farmers and promote food security in the state.
The council has directed that the proposed Bill for the establishment of JATA be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and subsequent passage into law.
