Northern Leaders Flock to Abuja for Sule Lamido’s Autobiography Launch

In a gathering of Nigeria’s most influential figures, the Northern States Governors’ Forum Chairman and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s representative, Mohammed Idris, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and other dignitaries at the launch of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido’s autobiography, “Being True To Myself,” at the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre in Abuja.
The event, chaired by former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s representative, Professor Attahiru Jega, drew a wide range of prominent attendees, including former Vice Presidents Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, serving and former governors, National Assembly members, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders from across the political divide.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, representing the Northern States Governors’ Forum, pledged N50 million in support of the publication and an additional N10 million to purchase 10 copies of the book for the Gombe State University Library. He praised Lamido as a statesman committed to justice, equity, and nation-building.

The autobiography, “Being True To Myself,” promises to be a valuable resource for future leaders, detailing Lamido’s decades-long political journey, governance challenges, and personal convictions. As a memoir and manual, the book offers insights into the complexities of Nigerian politics and governance.

As “Being True To Myself” hits the shelves, Nigerians can expect a candid look at the life and times of Sule Lamido, a seasoned politician who has left an indelible mark on the country’s history. The book’s launch has sparked conversations about leadership, governance, and nation-building, highlighting the importance of Lamido’s experiences and insights in shaping the country’s future.
