Gombe State University Achieves Full Accreditation for 6 Key Programmes, Boosts Academic Credibility

In a significant milestone for the institution, Gombe State University (GSU) has secured full accreditation for six of its undergraduate programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC). The accredited programmes include Business Administration, Education English, Education History, Pharmacy, Biology, and Geology, spread across the Faculties of Arts and Social Science, Education, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Science.
According to the Director of Academic Planning, Professor A. D. Bajoga, the NUC conducted rigorous evaluation exercises in October and November 2024, assessing various components such as curriculum content, staffing, facilities, and overall academic quality. GSU successfully met the stringent standards set by the NUC, demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence.
This achievement is a testament to the University’s relentless pursuit of national and international standards in education. With this development, all 63 undergraduate programmes offered by GSU now have full accreditation status, further strengthening the institution’s reputation both locally and internationally.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, expressed his profound gratitude to the staff, students, and members of the public for their dedication and support, which significantly contributed to the successful outcome. “This milestone underscores our steady progress towards maintaining national and international standards in education,” he stated.
