Sule Tankarkar LG Pledges Support for Tsangaya Schools Reformation

In a significant development for Islamic education in Jigawa State, the Executive Chairman of Sule Tankarkar Local Government, Hon. Tasiu Adamu Sule, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the reformation and development of Tsangaya schools within his local government area.

This commitment was underscored during a courtesy visit by Dr. Abubakar Hamisu Maje, Executive Secretary of the Tsangaya Education Board, Jigawa State, who was accompanied by his team. The visit aimed to explore collaborative efforts in integrating and reforming the Tsangaya schools system across the state.
According to reports, there are 165 Tsangaya schools in Jigawa State with a total enrollment of 7,685 students, with Sule Tankarkar Local Government hosting one of these institutions. The Executive Secretary’s visit highlighted the need for innovative and sustainable development in the system, including the introduction of skills acquisition centers, regular workshops, and awareness programs for teachers.

Hon. Tasiu Adamu expressed his administration’s readiness to support the Tsangaya school system within the limitations of local government administration. He also led the visiting team to witness one of the modern Tsangaya schools he constructed in Danladi Ward, specifically Danladin Gumel.
This development marks a significant step towards improving the quality of Islamic education in Sule Tankarkar Local Government and Jigawa State at large. The integration of skills acquisition centers and workshops for teachers is expected to enhance the overall learning experience for students and equip them with essential skills for future endeavors.
