Minister Badaru, who also serves as the Patron of AANDEC, delivered the keynote address on behalf of the First Lady, who was billed as the Special Guest of Honour.
With the theme “Combating Hunger and Poverty for Sustainable Peace and Development in Nigeria,” the seminar attracted a distinguished gathering of national security experts, senior policymakers, defence stakeholders, and civil society leaders.
According to a statement signed by the Minister’s Media Assistant, Mr. Mati Ali, the Defence Minister reiterated the critical link between economic wellbeing and national security, emphasizing that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without addressing hunger and poverty.
The seminar forms part of ongoing efforts to drive inter-agency collaboration and policy synergy in tackling root causes of insecurity, particularly as they relate to socioeconomic challenges across the country.
