Nigeria’s newly appointed High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, on Thursday officially presented his Letter of Credence to King Charles III at the Royal Palace, accompanied by his wife during the formal diplomatic ceremony.

The presentation of credentials marks the official commencement of Ambassador Dalhatu’s diplomatic duties as Nigeria’s representative to the United Kingdom, one of Nigeria’s longstanding strategic partners in diplomacy, trade, education, security cooperation, and investment.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu conveyed the goodwill and commitment of the Government and people of Nigeria toward strengthening bilateral relations with the United Kingdom. He reaffirmed his dedication to promoting mutual cooperation, economic partnerships, citizens’ welfare, and diplomatic engagement between both nations.

The envoy also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him to serve the country in such an important international assignment. He pledged to work diligently in advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives while fostering stronger ties between Nigerians in the diaspora and their home country.

Ambassador Dalhatu is widely respected for his experience in public service and diplomacy, with many stakeholders expressing optimism that his tenure will further deepen Nigeria-UK relations and open new opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.

The event was attended by senior palace officials, diplomatic representatives, and members of the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom.
