In a significant political development, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar hosted a high-profile gathering after tonight’s Iftar, receiving former Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa, and Musa Halilu, Dujima Adamawa. The meeting, which took place at Atiku’s residence, sparked intense speculation about the opposition’s strategy for the 2027 general elections.

Atiku, who was the PDP Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, described the discussions with his guests as “the dessert of the meal.” While the details of their conversation remain undisclosed, the meeting is widely seen as a move to strengthen opposition alliances ahead of the next elections.

This development comes on the heels of Atiku’s recent meeting with Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, which also fueled speculation about a potential coalition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

As the opposition continues to re strategize, Atiku’s moves are being closely watched by political analysts and pundits. Will this gathering mark the beginning of a new opposition alliance? Only time will tell.
