MAIDUGURI, Borno State – April 10th, 2025 – The Borno State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a strong rebuttal against what it describes as a “malicious” and “fabricated” attempt to suspend its State Secretary, Hon. Ali Alyu. The party alleges that signatures of ward executives from Zara Wuyaku ward in Biu Local Government Area were forged in a social media campaign aimed at destabilizing the party.

In a press statement released today, Amos Adziba, the State Publicity Secretary and Secretary to all 36 states publicity Secretaries including Abuja, categorically dismissed the purported suspension as “null and void” and “of no effect.” Adziba emphasized that the information circulating on social media did not originate from the party’s official channels and contravenes the PDP’s constitution.

“This is a clear act of sabotage, intended to sow discord within our ranks,” Adziba stated. “The individuals claiming to have suspended Hon. Ali Alyu are agents of destruction, attempting to undermine the unity and progress of our great party.”

The statement highlighted that the ward executives themselves have come forward, asserting that their signatures were fraudulently used without their consent. This revelation has prompted the PDP to take swift action, with the matter now under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Borno State Command.

The Borno PDP leadership has called upon its members and supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, urging them to disregard the “false and misleading” information. The party reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that those responsible for the alleged forgery and dissemination of false information are brought to justice.

“We assure our supporters that the PDP in Borno State remains united and focused on serving the people,” Adziba concluded. “We will not be deterred by these underhanded tactics.”
