In a shocking move, the leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Gwaram Local Government Area has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), following in the footsteps of Rep. Yusuf Shitu Galambi, who recently switched allegiance from NNPP to APC.

The NNPP leaders, including the party’s executives and ward chairmen, paid a visit to Rep. Galambi’s residence in Dutse, where they announced their decision to join the APC. This mass defection is seen as a significant boost to the APC’s presence in Jigawa State.

According to reports, the NNPP leaders cited Rep. Galambi’s defection as the reason for their own decision to switch parties. They expressed their commitment to working with Rep. Galambi and the APC to advance the interests of Gwaram Local Government Area.

Rep. Galambi, who represents Gwaram Federal Constituency, welcomed the NNPP leaders into the APC fold, assuring them of equal opportunities and treatment within the party. He also expressed his gratitude for their support, promising to continue working tirelessly for the benefit of his constituents.

This development is seen as a significant blow to the NNPP’s presence in Jigawa State, while bolstering the APC’s chances in future elections.
